Who is already solving MedTechs' challenges?

Top global MedTech corporations tell their stakeholders, in writing, what they struggle with. We read all of it, ranked the fifteen problems that recur, and went looking for the companies already solving them to pitch at MedTech Forum in Singapore.

THE AUDIENCE

The room, described honestly.

The MedTech Forum is APACMed's annual meeting, at Suntec Singapore — the 2027 edition, dates to be confirmed. It is not a startup conference with corporates invited. It is a corporate and regulatory meeting with a stage for innovators on Day 1.

The working paper

Fifteen challenges. Sixty-two filings. Zero guesswork.

The Fifteen Challenges of Asia-Pacific MedTech is a sixteen-page working paper, issued for peer review in August 2026. It scores 62 companies against fifteen challenges, using nothing but what those companies write in their own regulatory filings. No company is named. No market size is claimed. A “no” required reading the full risk-factor section.

The fifteen commercialisation challenges, ranked by how many of 62 annual regulatory filings name each one as a risk.

Pitch slots

Twelve slots. Three minutes each. Decided on evidence.

The Day-1 Innovation Stage has twelve pitch slots of three minutes. There is no fee to apply, buying something does not improve your chances, and the rubric that decides it is published in full before applications open.

1

Five things get you scored at all: a verifiable entity, a business you are still in, clear governance, disclosed ownership, and a recorded consent. A corporate or investor shareholder does not exclude you — concealing one does. A business unit of a larger company may apply, provided the parent is named.

2

Then 100 points across five dimensions. Evidence carries the most weight, at 25. Challenge fit is 20, Asia-Pacific relevance 20, readiness to transact 15, and what the room learns 20.

3

Ties are broken by evidence first, then by challenge coverage — a challenge nobody else is covering beats a stronger field in a crowded one. A package is never a tie-breaker.

4

Two reviewers score independently and do not see what you have bought. A sponsor may not review. Scores are never published, and nobody is ranked publicly against anybody else.

Twelve slots against a roster of more than a hundred listed companies is a competitive process. We would rather you knew the odds and applied anyway.

Stage, pitch and plenary slots are decided on merit against a published rubric. A package determines which slots you may apply for, never which you win.

How the roster is built

Nine tests. Every company passes all of them.

The roster is built from research, not applications. Every company on it has been checked against the same nine tests — three hard bars, two strengtheners, two descriptive, and two disclosed.

Q1Independent
informational

Acquired, majority-owned or a subsidiary.

Informational; affiliation logged. Not a bar from 25 Aug 2026 — disclosed, never excluded.

Q2Entity verified
hard bar

The company does not exist, is struck off, or could not be substantiated.

Off the app, retained here.

Q3Premise holds
hard bar

Exited the business the challenge is about.

Off the app, retained here.

Q4Governance clear
hard bar

Fraud findings, restatements, litigation or loss of founder control.

Off the app, retained here.

Q5Named healthcare reference
strengthener

No demonstrated hospital, health-system, payer or device-manufacturer customer. MedTech relevance is inferred.

Marked, retained.

Q6APAC HQ
descriptive

Headquartered outside Asia-Pacific.

Not a problem, marked.

Q7APAC operations
descriptive

No stated APAC office, engagement or delivery presence.

Not a problem, marked.

Q8Ownership / scale verified
disclosed

An ownership or scale claim could not be substantiated from a primary source.

Marked, retained. Do not publish the claim.

Q9No channel conflict
disclosed

Introducing this solver could put a member's own distributor inside its project.

Must be disclosed first.

Open mode

Not on the list? Make the case.

The roster is built from research, not applications. That does not make it closed — it makes the bar explicit. Tell us which of the fifteen you solve and show us it works somewhere.

Informational; affiliation logged. Not a bar from 25 Aug 2026 — disclosed, never excluded.

We check every nomination against the same nine tests:

Refer

Not the right person? Tell us who is.

Consent for a listing usually sits with a founder, a commercial lead or whoever signs partnership agreements. If that is not you, the fastest thing you can do is name them.

We will contact the person you name once, by email, and we will tell them that you passed on their details. If they ask us not to contact them again, we will not.

Or forward this instead.

Copy a short forwarding note — a button that copies four sentences and the tokenised link to the clipboard, so the referrer sends it from their own mailbox. A forwarded introduction converts better than a cold one and creates no third-party data obligation at all.

Promotion pack

Tell your side of it.

You have just been named against a challenge that 76% of Asia-Pacific MedTech companies write into their own filings. That is worth a post, and we have done the work.

We will name you in a LinkedIn post before the Forum and tag your page. You are not required to post anything, and nothing here changes if you do not.
